Change Your Strategy This Holy Week and Change Your Life

Change Your Strategy This Holy Week and Change Your Life

Aside from the sun and sand, the mountainous road trips, the family reunions, and the very LOOOOOONG weekend, the holy week always reminds me of pain. It always reminds me that almost 2,000 years ago, a man suffered so much pain undeservingly just to save us from our sins and to give us salvation. Otherwise, we would still be worshipping God based on fear of our sins, and not based on love.

Don't get me wrong. I am not trying to make you feel guilty or trying to be a kill joy. Take a break! Have a vacation! Spend time with your family! I am in Tagaytay myself spending time with the whole Cruz family. Later, we are going to have a mini sportsfest! Because if it's not sweaty, it's not a Cruz family reunion.

But, let us take ten to twenty minutes from the 96 HOURS of our long weekend to remember the pains Jesus Christ went through for us. Let us take this opportunity not to escape from reality but to retreat from the battlefield called work and everyday life, remember our own pains, regroup, and reformulate strategies and plans on how we can face reality this coming Monday!

After all, Easter does not just mean the resurrection of our Savior and the fulfillment of the scriptures. It also means Jesus' conquering His problems and the "reality" of death!

What Problems Are You Facing Right Now?

Do you have problems with your health? Are you suffering from a very painful illness? Are you suffering from a life-threatening condition? Are you suffering from a disease for years now?

I am not an expert when it comes to medicine. But, I always remember the woman who touched the tassel of Jesus' cloak. She was healed from the bleeding she was suffering from for twelve long years! What she used was faith and a lot of determination to get well.

Maybe it's time to have a different strategy. Maybe it's time to add faith to the medications you are taking. Maybe it's time to add a positive outlook and a happy disposition to your healing strategy. Maybe it's time to have determination to live and to be healthy. Nothing is impossible with God. (By the way, whenever I'm sick, I do not take medicines. I take an extensive bed rest, water therapy, have lots of fruits, and a lot more of prayer.)

Do you have a problem in your finances? Are you having a hard time making ends meet? Are you buried in debt?

Maybe it's time to start employing a 10:20:70 strategy (10% for tithe, 20% for savings, and 70% for expenses). Credit to Bro. Bo Sanchez and the Feast. Maybe it's time to start investing on things that really matter, not on things that moth and rust destroy, not even on fame and glory that fade away.

Are you suffering from the pain of losing someone? Or from the pain of a failed job interview or a lost job? Were you not able to get that promotion you have been working so hard for? Did your business fail?

Maybe it's time to have faith that your loved one is finally with our Father in heaven. Maybe it's time to have faith that your failures have a purpose. Maybe it's time to have faith that the best is yet to come.

Finally, are you suffering from social pains? Do you feel as if people are looking down on you or ridiculing you? Are there people you have not yet forgiven? Do you feel insecure seeing your Facebook friends traveling, going to places, and already successful in their careers?

Maybe it's time to find your purpose, the one thing that only you can give to the world. Maybe it's time to start thinking that the world does not really care whether you are successful or not. It cares only about whether you are able to add value to other people’s lives or not. Maybe it's time to set your own goals and define your own success. Maybe it’s time to let go of your hurts and forgive the people who have hurt you.

Maybe it's time to live your life for others. It's time you realize that while others are ahead of you, a lot more way behind you. Maybe it's time to make a difference in the world, one person at a time. You can start with your family, then with your friends, then with the people around you, until you touch the whole world. Someone out there is waiting for you to make a difference in his or her life. There is someone out there whose life only you can touch.

Friend, like what I shared with you last Monday, whatever you are going through right now, Jesus already went through. And He went through worse.

This holy week, it's time to assess where you are and determine where you want to go. Maybe it's time to do something different. Maybe it's time to make your life better and make other people's lives better. Maybe it's time to change your strategy.

Maybe it's time you finally face your pain, not escape from it, carry your own cross, fulfill your destiny, make a difference, and change the world.

No matter how much pain you are in now, your resurrection is coming. Believe that this Monday, you will rise up again a new person, a more powerful champion, and a more determined conqueror. God is with you.
