Today is Mission Monday. On Mission Mondays, I write about my imperfect understanding of God’s perfect love. I am fulfilling my mission to spread the word of God by writing about the strategies and battle plans of the Greatest Conqueror who ever lived – Jesus Christ.
God's Word: John 14:11-12
"Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father."
Are You Living a Mediocre Life? Do Something About It
One day, there was a young man who rode a bus to go to work.
But, he did not really feel like going to work. It was already past nine in the morning and he was running late for work.
The bus was full, like it usually was in the business district. It was full of people who were also running late from work.
He looked around the bus. No, he looked at the people's faces inside the bus. He looked at their tired, sad eyes as if the joy from watching last night's teleserye (TV series) and the warmth of their families' embrace were replaced by the dread of deadlines, cubicles, and difficult work mates.
Their working day had not even started, but they were already longing to go home.
The young man observed that almost everyone on the bus were like him. They were all dragging themselves to work.
Worse, they felt they were living mediocre lives.
Yes, that young man was me two years ago.
Friend, I just have a simple message today: God did not create you to live a mediocre life. Jesus said that whoever believes in Him will DO THE WORKS that He did and will do EVEN GREATER ONES.
God made you for greatness! God made you to achieve great things!
He knew you before He formed you. And He knew that you would be a great and successful person!
Do you feel as if you are living a mediocre life?
There's only one solution: Do something about it.
Take action! Do something different in your life! Make mistakes! Fail! Be crazy! Take risks! Look silly in the eyes of other people!
Just do something about it.
No, you do not have to quit your job right away, especially if you are providing for your family. You can do what you've always wanted to do on the side. You can always start small.
Sacrifice a little bit of your leisure time, your TV time, your video game time, and your "me" time to do something meaningful like starting a business or joining a cause.
Just do something!
Can't find what you love to do? Try new things until you discover your "one thing." Don't be afraid to make mistakes.
Friend, you are meant to do great things. But your greatness starts with that one small step.
Will you take that one small step towards your greatness?
PS. I really missed writing. And I really missed writing to you! I made a commitment never to take a hiatus again! So help me, God. I hope you are doing great!
