Our job is to do our best

Our job is to simply love God and others through what we do — the best way that we can — every single day. Let’s trust God with the results.

When it comes to evangelizing the Gospel, our job is to witness. Another person’s conversion is up to God (and the will of the other person).

If they are not willing to believe, they will not no matter what we do or say or how much we love them.

Jesus reminds us of this in today’s Gospel:

“[The rich man] said, ‘Oh no, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ Then Abraham said, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.’” — Luke 16:30-31

In making our dreams a reality, our job is to do our best. We only have control over our effort, but never over the results.

Our job is to simply love God and others through what we do — the best way that we can — every single day. Let’s trust God with the results.

Isn't it liberating?
