Isn’t it comforting that God never meant for us to journey alone?
Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick—no food, no sack, no money in their belts. — Mark 6:7-8
Imagine going on a journey without any food, money, or change of clothing. While Jesus was telling the disciples to have complete trust and reliance on God, the journey still probably proved difficult for the disciples.
But instead of sending them out one by one, Jesus sent them by twos. Faith surely made all the difference, but so did having a companion on the journey.
It’s the same with our own journeys to eternity and even with chasing our God-given dreams. Faith makes all the difference, but so does having a companion.
A companion who encourages us whenever we feel like quitting. A companion who picks us up whenever we fall. A companion who carries us whenever we feel like we cannot go any further. A companion who gives us strength and courage and confidence just by being there.
Who is with you in your journey?
P.S. Even in the very beginning, God made a suitable helper for man. (Genesis 1:18)
P.P.S. I also thank God for my wife who is journeying with me. Thank You, Father. And to my wife, thank you.
