“What does God want me to do?”

When God doesn’t seem to give you a clear direction, maybe it’s because God simply want you to believe in Jesus and follow Him completely no matter what direction you take.

Have you ever asked yourself, “What does God want me to do?”

There are times when we know in our hearts what God wants us to do. But there are also times when God doesn’t seem to give us a clear answer.

During the times of Jesus, the people following Him probably heard Jesus’ preaching for them to do God’s work. But like us, they did not know how to accomplish it.

Jesus gave them (and gives us) a simple answer:

“So they said to him, ‘What can we do to accomplish the works of God?’ Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent.” — John 6:28-29

All it takes to accomplish the works of God is to believe in Jesus.

But this belief is not just a lip service. It requires believing in Jesus with all of our hearts, our intellect, our will, and our strength. Believing in Jesus requires that we believe with all of ourselves — words, thoughts, and actions.

When God doesn’t seem to give you a clear direction, maybe it’s because God simply want you to believe in Jesus and follow Him completely no matter what direction you take. Maybe no matter what choice you make, as long as you believe in Jesus with all of yourself, that choice will lead you to Him, that choice will help you accomplish the works God wants you to do.

It’s the same with the Israelites during the time of Moses. The pillars of cloud and fire were not always moving or leading them to where the Israelites should go. But, they always knew what God wanted them to do — to obey His commandments.

In every moment, remain in Jesus and obey Him.
