Following Jesus does not have to be complicated. It only requires two simple things:
“The scribe said to Jesus, ‘Well said, teacher. You are right in saying, ‘He is One and there is no other than he.’ And ‘to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself’ is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.’” — Mark 12:32-33
Every day, you simply have to love God and your neighbors more, through our thoughts, words, prayers, and actions. Loving God and our neighbors are worth more than our sacrifices, our tithes, and the bible studies we attend.
But simple does not necessarily mean easy. It still takes everyday commitment.
Are you committed to loving God and your neighbor? (A question I need to ask myself every day as well.)
