How you can change your life

You cannot expect to change by doing the same things and thinking the same thoughts.

Do you want to become the person you’ve always wanted to be, the best version of yourself, or the person God wants you to be?

Do you want to change your life, perhaps?

Then, you have to change the way you think and the way you act.

You have to renew your thinking and your habits.

You cannot expect to change by doing the same things and thinking the same thoughts.

It’s like what Jesus says in today’s Gospel reading:

“No one patches an old cloak with a piece of unshrunken cloth, for its fullness pulls away from the cloak and the tear gets worse.
“People do not put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.” — Matthew 9:16-17

It reminds me of what Matthew Kelly wrote in his book, Rediscovering Catholicism:

“The essence of Catholicism is transformation. You cannot become more like Jesus Christ and at the same time stay as you are.”

Change your thinking, change your actions. Only then can you change your life.

P.S. One way to change the way you think? Learn from others. Learn from Jesus through the Bible. Read books. Attend seminars. Be part of a community or a group. Just learn from someone else. Keep learning.
