Transformed once and for all

When we truly follow Jesus, when we truly allow Him to enter into our hearts and into our lives, there’s just no more turning back.

Last night, I was praying with desperation for God to transform me, especially through His Word, through the Scripture. You see, I had fallen back to some bad habits.

I had fallen once again to mindlessly surfing the web, randomly watching YouTube videos, sleeping late, waking up even later, and even some past addictions.

And I felt He answered me through today’s Epistle:

So I declare and testify in the Lord that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds… you should put away the old self of your former way of life, corrupted through deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new self, created in God's way in righteousness and holiness of truth. — Ephesians 4:17,22-24

Through the Epistle, I realized that, sometimes, we just have to make a decision not to go back to our old way of life. Sometimes, we just have to stop looking back and keep moving forward with Jesus. Sometimes, we just have to allow Him to transform us once and for all and commit.

Because when we truly follow Jesus, when we truly allow Him to enter into our hearts and into our lives, there’s just no more turning back.

Allow God to transform you, once and for all.

P.S. Sure, we may fall down again and again. But, let us move forward and commit once again. As author Jon Acuff said in his book, Finish, the most difficult day is the day after perfect.
