Mr. Hamster ran on a wheel.
Day and night he ran and ran.
Other hamsters watched him run.
They applauded his dedication and were filled with admiration.
Soon, the top hamsters also took notice.
They commended Mr. Hamster and said, “Well done, Mr. Hamster, that was tremendous.”
They gave him a reward,
a bigger wheel to run on!
Mr. Hamster ran some more.
What else could he ask for?
But, Mr. Hamster realized, with all his running, with his bigger wheel, with other hamsters’ cheers, he was going nowhere.
He had everything, but of its emptiness he became aware.
So, Mr. Hamster left his wheel and the cheers and ran away.
Another second, he did not delay.
Day and night Mr. Hamster ran and ran.
Even though he did not have a plan.
As long as Mr. Hamster was moving,
his fears could not keep him from going.
Despite his uncertainties, Mr. Hamster was finally going somewhere.
Instead of running on a wheel, but going nowhere.
