Are You Planning to Avoid Failure or to Reach Success?

Even as I'm writing this article, I can't help but get discouraged by my website's traffic for the past few weeks. The traffic now is not like it was when I just relaunched the website and introduced the first of our free guides. Whenever I plan, I think about what I should do to avoid failure instead of what I should do to succeed. Last night, I realized that it's not just me. Most of us plan to avoid failure instead of planning how to succeed.

There's a huge difference. When you're planning to avoid failures, you think about plugging the holes of a sinking ship. When you're planning to succeed, you think about different routes to your destination, making the experience memorable, and making the journey worthwhile – for you and for your passengers.

How about you? Do you plan to avoid failure or reach success?
