Simple answer: You have to be the best version of yourself in every decision—big or small. You have to be the best version of yourself every day, in every moment.
We think that we can become the best version of ourselves only when we accomplish something big or when we finally reach our dreams. We think that we can only be our higher selves in the future—near or far.
But, we can be the best version of ourselves now. We just have to make that choice in every moment, in every circumstance. We can be our higher selves now.
Being the best version of ourselves now is also the only way for us to become the people we want to be. The big break, the big moment, or the big decision that will define who you are doesn’t come often. It’s the daily decisions we make that define who we are and who we will become.
I love this verse from the bible:
“What now is has already been; what is to be, already is.” — Ecclesiastes 3:15
Yes, your past doesn’t define your future. But, who you will become tomorrow depends a lot on who you are and what you will do today.
Be the best version of yourself now—in every moment, in every decision.
P.S. Credit where credit is due. I’d like to thank a very special person for inspiring me to write this post. Thank you!
