In words, God is my priority

Every Sunday, I take a break from writing about WorkLife, and Changing the World. Instead, I write about my imperfect understanding of God’s perfect love as my personal mission to spread His word and His love and to make a difference. You can read more Mission posts here.

In words, God is my priority. In action, He's not.

For the past few days, I haven't been able to keep my daily appointment with God.

During the weekdays, I woke up late (again) most of the time and rushed off to work.

Now, during the weekends, I got too busy with my chores and other responsibilities that I failed to give Him any time throughout the day.

I remember what I learned from our Feast Builder during our retreat:

"What you don't have time for is not your priority."

Yes, I always say that God is at the center of my life. But, there are times when I don't show it through action, especially when I give more time to my other tasks, chores, and responsibilities. He’s not my priority.

Putting Him at the center of your life is a choice. It's a decision you have to make. But, it's easier said than done.

You don't choose to give time to God only when you have free time, only when it's convenient. You have to make time for it.

Starting tomorrow, I'll start with my 31-day challenge again of waking up early. To give time to God.

"You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind.” — Luke 10:27

And the greatest expression of love is time.
