Change is a necessary part of growth.
Letting go is a necessary part of change.
If you want to grow, there are some things in your life you have to let go:
- A habit or an activity that's no longer propelling you forward.
- Toxic people and unhealthy relationships. (Don't worry. You can still love and pray for them from afar.)
- Dreams or goals that have reached a dead end. (Although, it's not easy to know with absolute certainty which of your dreams have done so. Proceed with caution.)
There are also people in our lives whom we have crossed paths with. We spent time with them, cried with them, embraced them, and shared our lives with them. But, we have always been heading towards different directions. We need to stop holding on to each other in order for us to go our separate paths. Only then can we move forward. We can only look back with joy and gratitude for the brief moments in our lives we shared with them. We can only hope that, in those brief moments, we made a lasting impact. We can also hope and pray that, someday, our paths will cross once again.
The same goes with our experiences. We needed to go the experiences we went through whether pleasant or painful. But, we only have to go through them and avoid getting stuck in the past. They were necessary, but we have to move on to the next chapters of our lives. There still are countless pages waiting to be turned and stories that are yet to be told.
The moment we let go is the moment we open ourselves to new opportunities and new connections. Only then can change and growth happen.
P.S. Today, I also want to share with you that I’m letting go of Charging the Lines. It was a necessary part of my life. It needed to happen. I needed to go through it. It opened my eyes to the joy and possibilities of writing and creating art. It paved the way for something better and, now, I’m moving on to the next chapter of this blog. Today, I’m renaming the blog simply to “Carlo’s Blog.” During the past two years, Charging the Lines had been changing, evolving, and growing. Charging the Lines was supposed to be about going against the world’s rules, beliefs, and standards. It was supposed about overcoming reality and conformity. But, Charging the Lines could no longer contain the lessons that will help us move forward, the possibilities we can create, and the values that we can form. Charging the Lines had to change once again. And this time, Charging the Lines had given birth to something much more. In this new chapter, I hope to add more value to your life and help you reach your goals and dreams by sharing the lessons I learn every day. The blog will also be more personal, positive, and sometimes, vulnerable. In the blog, I’ll also be sharing more of myself in the hope of journeying together with you as well. Welcome to Carlo’s Blog.
