Nothing to Lose

I always say that especially when I want something so badly.

When I say I have nothing to lose, before a job interview or before a client meeting, suddenly, a burst of confidence seems to flow right through my body like an electric current.

So far, it has really been effective to pump myself up.

I simply think about what I already have—my family, the people in my life, my friends, my relationships, my accomplishments, my current work, my health—and I become content. Everything else becomes a bonus.

But now, I feel like I have an even stronger reason why I have nothing to lose: I have Jesus in my life.

Struggling to land a freelance work this month, I really clung to Jesus. Slowly, but surely, I realized that He’s more than enough for me.

A single blog post is not enough to share with you how He’s been faithful to His promises to me, especially this January. For example, I received small payments here and there from sources I didn’t know I had. He never fails to give me my daily bread. And that’s more than enough for me. After all, He also said, “Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.” (Matthew 6:34)

Why else should I worry about anything, especially about tomorrow? I have nothing to lose. Everything is just a bonus. God is always with me and He’s more than enough for me.

How about you? You have nothing to lose. Just go. God is with you.
