Pursuing Success is a Boring Process

After all, to get to where we want to go, we just need to put one foot in front of the other. Then, we just have to do it again and again until we get there. We simply have to show up work day after work day.

Of course, this is under the assumption that we are passionate about what we're doing and that we're doing it with excellence.

  • To succeed in investing in the stock market (here's a free guide, by the way), we simply have to invest in boring blue chip stocks regularly, regardless of whether the stock market is up or down.
  • To succeed in sports, we have to put in the effort not only during the actual games, but even more so during practices, when no one is watching and cheering.
  • Writing seems fun when we have lots of ideas and when we are ready to share our ideas with the world. But, when it comes to actually writing down our thoughts, when there's a blank sheet of paper or a blank page in front of us, it becomes a pretty boring, tedious, and repetitive process.

Success involves a lot of repetitiveness and routine. It involves a lot of waiting and monotony.

But, continuing the pursuit of success despite the repetitiveness, the routine, the waiting, and the monotony is what makes the journey worthwhile.

Are you feeling bored and impatient with your pursuit of success? Maybe you're on the right track.
