More important than one, giant leap is a series of small, consistent steps. At least, that’s what my favorite authors and bloggers write in their books and blogs. Sustained effort is more effective than one strong push. (After all, a strong push is usually followed an equally strong or an even stronger pull. Hello, gravity.)
When making our dreams a reality, consistently good results are often better than great results that are few and far between.
We have to create a system that will allow us to generate consistently good results through sustained effort. We have to create a system that can help us avoid getting burned out. After all, no matter how passionate we are about something, we can still get burned out.
I’m far from burning out, but in order to make my effort on this blog — on this dream of mine — more sustainable, I have decided to post only from Monday to Friday. Not only will this allow me to rest and recharge on weekends, it will also enable me to write longer-form posts. Hopefully, with this decision, I will also have enough time and energy to write advanced posts (for when my day job gets busy and unpredictable), so I never miss a post again.
After three years of blogging, one of the most important things I learned is that blogging on and off doesn’t really work.
How about you? Are you consistent in making your dreams a reality?
P.S. Starting next week, I will be posting only on weekdays. So, this will be one of the rare times that I will write to you on weekends. My next weekend email will only be for important announcements in which time is of the essence.
