Well, at least it’s one of the most important things you need to learn if you want to make it in your career or whatever it is you are doing.
You have to learn how to listen.
You have to listen to your customers.
You have to listen to your boss (or bosses).
You have to listen to the people you want to help.
What do they really want from you? What do they really need?
You have to listen to what they say. But, more importantly, you have to listen to what they do not say. You have go deeper. You have to dig deeper. You have to read between the lines.
Sometimes, they don’t even need anything. They just need to be listened to. They just need to feel important enough for someone to listen to them. When you do that, when you learn how to genuinely listen, you’ll definitely make it in whatever it is you are doing.
In Chris Guillebeau’s new book, Born for This, he shares how to listen your way to finding the work you were meant to do. He shares in great detail on how you can start your business (or consultancy) by asking 100 people what they want, listening to them, and solving their problems.
This is Day 6 of 6 of our Chris Guillebeau Week. For the past week, we celebrated the launch of Chris’ new book, Born for This: How to Find the Work You Were Meant to Do. You can order the book at: bornforthisbook.com.
I also preordered three books before the launch. I’ll be keeping one copy for myself and give away two copies for free! As a way of saying “thank you” to the subscribers of my free daily email, you’ll have a chance to get one of the two copies. All you have to do is to reply to my email and answer these two questions: What is your dream career or business? Why?
For those who have not yet subscribed to my free daily email, there are a lot more freebies in the future. You’ll also receive daily insights and inspiration straight to your inbox. I invite you to subscribe here for free.
I hope you enjoyed our “Chris Guillebeau Week.” Now, it’s your turn to find the work you were meant to do. But first, what do you want from me as well?
