… are those who decide to do so.
They are the people who are deliberate about what they read, what they watch, how they act, and what they do.
A lot of people are frustrated about their lot in life. But, not a lot of people are willing to act. It’s not always because they are afraid or lazy. Most of the time, it’s because they are not willing to make the necessary sacrifice—not watching TV, surfing the net, or scrolling down their news feeds anymore.
I’m not saying those are bad. But, you need to let go of good things to make space for better things.
Changing your life is also not about promising yourself never to do this or that anymore. It will be a daunting task and an overwhelming obstacle to overcome.
It’s about making a better decision one day at a time. It’s about making one good decision after another. Break your whole life down into the tiniest details, into everyday decisions you need to make.
The next time you need to focus on the task at hand and you get a notification on your phone? Make the decision not to pick up your phone.
Instead of watching TV tonight, make the decision to pick up a book instead.
Instead of scrolling down your newsfeed, make the decision to read blogs that inspire you, light a fire within you, or make you feel excited about that project you’ve always wanted to start or the dream you’ve always wanted to pursue. I hope and pray that this blog has that positive effect on you. (And if so, I invite you to subscribe to my mailing list to get my art and writing straight to your inbox every day.)
Do you want to change your life? Start by being deliberate about how you live it.
