"Follow the crowd" is a dangerous proposition.
The crowd chooses what’s easy and what gives it instant gratification. It often prefers what is popular than what is right. Sometimes, it even breeds envy. That’s why the crowd is, more often than not, on a downhill slope.
Following the crowd can also rob you of your creativity, personal choice and power, and identity. When in a crowd, we often feel afraid to stand up, stand out, and get noticed even when you totally disagree with what they’re saying or believe in.
The good news is that even though you’re in a crowd right now, you have to choice to turn around and unfollow the crowd.
Better yet, surround yourself with a different, like-minded crowd. Still, don’t be afraid to stand up if needed—especially when you’re standing up for what is right.
