Jesus asked a scholar of the law, “Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?” He answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” — Luke 10:36-37
Sometimes, we get too caught up in our own worries, our own concerns, and our own anxieties that we forget to look at the people around us.
Sometimes, we focus too much on our services at church, our ministries, our laws, and traditions that we forget to be merciful to others.
Mercy is not just about forgiveness. It’s about helping others to experience heaven here on earth. At least for a short while. It starts with a short while.
“I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” — Matthew 9:13
