"Why Did You Doubt?"

Every Sunday, I take a break from writing about WorkLife, and Changing the World. Instead, I write about my imperfect understanding of God’s perfect love as my personal mission to spread His word and His love and to make a difference. You can read more Mission posts here.

Why did you doubt?

Why now, when you are already so close to reaching your dreams?

Was it not you who asked God if you could walk upon the waters? To the unknown? To the uncertainties?

Was it not you who asked God if you can come to Him?

Wasn't He the one who told you to "Come?"

So, why doubt now? Why give up now? Why sink now?

Why look at the waves and feel the strong wind when you can look at your dreams and feel your Almighty God?

God was the One who planted those dreams in your heart. God will make sure you have everything you need to fulfill them. God will make sure you can overcome the waves and the strong wind.

Have you sunk so deep in doubt already?

Don't worry. God will stretch His hand, catch you, and lift you up again.

Move forward with your dreams.

During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. "It is a ghost," they said, and they cried out in fear. At once Jesus spoke to them, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Peter said to him in reply, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come." Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"  Matthew 14: 25-31

P.S. Here's the song I was reflecting to this morning:
