Okay, I wasn't able to sell my ticket to Jason Mraz's concert. So, I ended up watching it! But, boy was it a-mraz-ing! It was at the very least "breath-taking." If you were there, you would have gotten this reference. Okay, I can't help it. I'm gonna share it here! He asked us to hold our breath. We were literally out of breath!.
His music was refreshing, uplifting, and simply felt good. There was a bit of a "retro" feeling as he sang songs from his previous albums. Really nice mix of new and old songs. His music was really beautiful and timeless.
But, what really stuck with me was the moment he shared with us his climate change reality awareness trip to Antarctica. Jason's an advocate of climate change! How cool is that?
Being his fans, I think many of us were inspired to plant trees, to have our own gardens at the very least, and to do more for the earth. (I really feel like going back to the earth! Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do.)
More than leaving his music in our heads and in our hearts, he left us with a cause to pursue. And that's how you make good use of your influence.
No matter who you are or where you're from, you are influential. There are people around you who listens to and gets inspired by you -- your family, your friends, and even friends of friends. Make good use of that influence to pursue a cause far bigger than yourself.
Live your life with purpose. Leave a legacy -- a legacy that other people, or even mother earth, can benefit from. Don't live your life only for yourself or you're bound to live a life always chasing temporary highs. It's not a pretty cool life, really.
Oh, and Jason Mraz is a great musician, but he's an even greater person.
P.S. I'm back to writing! Will also be back to following my regular posting schedule starting on Monday!
