… is to put our trust in things, money, achievements, and our own strength.
But, things fade away. Money loses its value. Achievements are forgotten. Our strength is fleeting.
We make the mistake of overworking ourselves to have more not because we are selfish, but because our security lies in them. But in the end, we realize that all these are only temporary.
What God is teaching us from the days of Adam and Eve is simply to trust Him. Fully. Without reservations.
The serpent tries to deceive us not by making us choose things that are bad or evil. It tries to deceive us by making us choose things that are less than what God's best. It tries to deceive us by making us choose the things of this world rather than His love and a relationship with Him.
Today’s scripture makes the command of God crystal clear: "Trust in the Lord forever! For the Lord is an eternal Rock."
He’s our only lasting security.
