Towards the end of the Acts of the Apostles, Paul was persecuted and put on trial by the Jewish authorities and Roman leaders. In his defense, Paul would always say, “I am on trial in the hope of the resurrection.”
When we live with the resurrection in mind…
… we firmly hold on to our faith.
… we become more courageous in testifying to God’s name and His work in our lives.
… suddenly, all the worldly and material things lose their luster.
… we think more about what we can give and contribute than what we can receive.
… our problems become smaller and we become more hopeful.
… we look at the needs of others more than ours.
… we focus on doing good.
… we love.
… we strive to become the best version of ourselves.
And maybe those are the reasons why we were created with eternity in mind.
